I did not bother with the demo, because I had seen a video of someone playing it, and I expected just the flaws you mentioned.
1 - the juggling. I am sure it will appeal to fighting game fans, but frankly, I want RPGs to be made for RPG players. Not only is it silly, I question how it could possibly work in multiplayer PvP. Which would be an issue if this is the base engine for the MMO. Which I think it will be.
2 - box-bashing. God, I am SO sick of that mechanic. I recently played the Torchlight demo, and was sick of this within five minutes. I own both Balder's Gate: Dark Alliance games and they cured me of ever wanting to break open another barrel.
I do believe Curt wants to take MMOs in a new direction, but I am not so sure it's a direction I would have chosen - or even want to be led in.
Did you ever start talking with someone about the state of gaming and agree that the industry needs a change of course - and then completely disagree on what that course should be?
