thanks for your support suske.
that being said, the template of the new forums will change.
what you see now is the overall layout, but we are going for a dark / black template as we used to have.

ok the new forums are up for viewing and general testing.
if all goes well and none has any reason to avoid the change we'll be making the transition.
nb: the old forums will still remain here, and people can access them as they do now - only difference is that they'll be locked down.

I think the community here is still relatively small enough that just about everyone would adapt to thes changes.
And it appears as though the positives would far outweigh the negatives on this.
I say go for it.

Quote by Temploiter:The mileage may vary here at MMOFringe.com, but I've been through 2 forum wipes with my guild (going back to 2003) website and it always sucks a little bit. One, it 'appears' that your forum/community isn't as active as it really is, because of the low post count/join date/thread count. Second, we always seemed to lose a few of the less involved community members (sometimes they'd get back on-board a year later or something, lol).
Just some things to think about.
i know exactly what you mean.
i am hoping that by having the old forums still accessible this perception will be mitigated.

Or the Champions PnP IP. From what I understand all the kept of that was the name and some of the scenery. The mechanics were 100% out the window.

I won't discount the greed theory, because that's totally possible, but another one is inflation. With all the qualitative easing going on it's surprising they haven't just doubled the price to be safe for a year or so.
